In late 1978 and 1979, Lucy Otter was invited by her long-time friend, iconoclastic musician Paul Hickey, to produce new artwork for the cover of Plastic Thief, a seven-track LP by his post-punk influenced electronic band Duchamp Widows.

Lucy Otter is a character from Siete Cavernas, the as yet unpublished novel by Gabriel Sierra. The record accompanies Studio Jumps, Sierra's first solo exhibition with Pippy Houldsworth Gallery.
