The AWARE Archives of Women Artists' interview with Jacqueline de Jong, the 2019 recipient of the AWARE Outstanding Merit Prize, is now available in bookshops.
“I wasn’t being a great philosopher when I painted. I was pretty down-to-earth (except when I ventured into the cosmos…). This prosaic quality is embodied in the form of violence that can be found at every stage of my painting, right up to the most recent series dealing with war.”
The second volume of the collection of interviews with recipients of Outstanding Merit Prize is now available. This second tome is dedicated to Jacqueline de Jong – the winner of the 2019 Prize. The interview was conducted by Gallien Déjean, art critic and freelance curator.
The AWARE Prize for Women Artists received support from the French Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
This publication received a publishing grant from the Région Ile-de-France and the kind support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
