Nasher Museum of Art Acquires a Work by Shaqúelle Whyte

Shaqúelle Whyte's Dance, Dance, Dance (2024) has been acquired by the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, North Carolina.

The articulation of motion in two dimensions is one of Whyte’s central theses, and Dance, Dance, Dance encapsulates his effort to catalyse movement with paint.

Shaqúelle Whyte (b. 2000, Wolverhampton) lives and works in London. In April 2024, Pippy Houldsworth Gallery presented the artist’s first solo exhibition, Yute, you’re gonna be fine. Following this, Whyte was selected for a live conversation at Tate Britain with art historian Alayo Akinkugbe. A painting from his solo exhibition was acquired by The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent, with support from The Contemporary Art Society, London. At Frieze London 2024, a new painting by Whyte was acquired by the Arts Council Collection, UK, made possible by the Arts Council Collection Frieze Fund. Whyte's second solo exhibition will take place at Pippy Houldsworth Gallery, London in Autumn 2025
