Pippy Houldsworth Gallery is delighted to announce the acquisition of Angela Heisch's Single Flare by New Orleans Museum of Art, Louisiana. The painting was part of a new body of work made for Heisch's solo exhibition, Burgeon and Remain, at Pippy Houldsworth Gallery, London in 2021.
Some such shapes have scalloped edges and others are more smoothly rounded, but each bears a two-toned central starburst motif articulated in fine, feathery wisps as interpenetrating rays of light. Sectioned off into color-contrasting quadrants, the petals of these florets begin to pinwheel ever so slightly like spellbound eyes.

Heisch will have her second solo exhibition at Pippy Houldsworth Gallery, London in March 2023.
